When does 180 meet?
180 meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 6-10 p.m., closing the 4th Saturday in November and December for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
What goes on during a typical 6-10pm night at 180?
180 has many attractions open to the students including cage basketball, foosball, pool, ping pong, Xbox, Wii, Playstation 2 & 3, skatepark, lounge area, and food area. Students are free to roam from 6-8 p.m. Then the night slows down with some live music and a speaker, which lasts about 30 minutes. The students are free to roam again until 10 p.m. or until their ride picks them up.
Who can attend a 180 event?
All students who are in grades 7-12 are able to attend. Students from all schools are invited to attend.
Does it cost to attend 180?
No. Admissions is free, and all games are free of charge. The only thing that costs at 180 is food, if the student chooses to purchase it.
What kind of food is for sale at 180?
180 has a variety of food and drink items available, nothing costing more than $1. 50. All items are sold at cost to us. Food includes: pizza, french fries, pretzels, nachos, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, candy, and cookies. Drinks include: all pepsi products (soda, Gatorade, water), Frappes, and smoothies.
How much money should my student bring?
$5 should cover the cost of food, if the students wishes to.
Am I allowed to come to a 180 event and check it out?
Of course. All we ask is that when you come in, to check in at the front desk and let them know you are just wanting to check it out. The attendant at the desk will assist you from there.
What kind of supervision is there at 180 events?
We have adult supervision throughout the entire yet, with 1-2 adults in each area of 180 including the skatepark, games, basketball, food/restrooms, 180 backstage and couches.
May my student leave before 10pm?
Yes. However, for security purposes, once a student leaves, he/she may not return that night.
How does someone become a volunteer at 180?
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please call 180 at 217.347.7700 and leave a message. Someone will be in contact with you soon. Then, we will set up a time for training, where you will fill out a volunteer information sheet as well as a background check and also learn how and what you can volunteer in at 180.
I’ve heard a collection is taken at each 180; what is that money used for?
Yes, we do take a collection during the service. All the money that is brought in from these collections goes straight back to funding for more activities and prizes for students during a 180 event.
Is the 180 facility available to rent for personal parties and/or receptions?
We allow school activities, such as reward days for students or post proms, at our 180 facility. If you are interested in using the building, please call 180 at 217.347.7700 to leave a message and someone will be in contact with you.
My student heard about the skatepark; how can I get more information about it?
To skate at 180, you must have a permission form that is available at 180 or HERE on our website.
Is the skate park open any additional times, other than the 2nd and 4th Saturdays?
No. The skatepark is only open on 180 and Club 56 events.
Is “Club 56″ a 180 event?
Club 56 is an event specifically for 5th and 6th graders only that takes place 4 times a year. When an event is coming up, all area schools are notified and students will be aware of the date. The event starts a 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. The set up of the night is similar to that of a 180 event. There is adult supervision throughout the entire night and a medical release form for the skatepark is required. Food will be for sale and $5 should that cost.
